Does a machine run all the time?
No. File, search, edit and Git work runs without one. A Linux machine starts when a task needs it and is metered only while it runs.
What does Serverless give me with my own key?
The hosted workspace, the harness, sessions, plugins and serverless tools, plus monthly credit for hosted models. It is a plan in its own right, not a trial.
Does unused credit carry over?
Plan credit resets each month. Credit you buy lasts 12 months and is spent after plan credit.
Do I need a Linux machine?
Not for file, search, edit and Git work. Choose a plan with machines for builds, native tools, packages or browsers.
Can I stop the agent starting machines?
Yes. In Account → Machine choose ask each time (the default), always allow, or never. Each chat can also allow or refuse machines for itself from the Machine menu under the message box.
What happens when a machine stops?
A machine stops after a period without use. Your files stay in the workspace; anything installed outside it does not.
